From a pastor and care ministries director who offers this testimony of his experience with Lighthouse Network:

“I was introduced to the Lighthouse Network from 2 different angles: First – a friend was going through a very difficult time in his life and God led him to Dr. Benzio for treatment and support…. Second – our ministry was involved in a very difficult situation with a woman named Sally*.  Lighthouse Network gave us considerable help in that situation.

“I must also say that since these initial involvements with the Lighthouse Network there have been three other difficult situations that they have helped us with.

  • With a mother of three who was severely depressed and suicidal.
  • With a high school teenage boy who needed immediate help with drug problems.
  • With a young woman in her early 20s who admitted to an eating disorder (anorexia).

It’s important for me to comment at this point that I am a pastor and am involved in ministry to people everyday.  My responsibilities are primarily counseling and discipleship and also recovery ministry.  As a result of the ministry I run into a lot of “impossible situations.” Lighthouse Network has helped me make impossible situations possible.  Let me explain.

“The young woman in her 20s with an eating disorder …finally admitted that she was anorexic and needed help.  I immediately called the Lighthouse Network.  They called me and the family and found suitable treatment options in less than 24 hours.  In this case it saved me and the family days of searching.

“The high school boy [and his family] with drug problems…spent days looking for suitable options and ended up (apart from my knowledge at the time) finding the Lighthouse Network to be the most helpful and supportive to their need.  If I knew then what I know now I would have called the Network immediately and saved hours/days of time.

“Maybe the biggest help came with Sally.  She was a woman in her 40s who was homebound and in critical need of care.  [The church] eventually realized that Sally needed more extensive care, but no matter how hard they tried, it never worked out.  Finally – Lighthouse Network got involved and found the perfect place for her. Without Lighthouse Network’s involvement I believe the church would still be struggling to know how to help Sally.

“The last situation – which is the most personal to me – involves my very best friend.  He had gone through a very difficult bout with his family immediately in their healing and recovery.  He has since helped other members of the family as well.
